Vanquish Worldwide, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business providing U.S. Army Logistics Readiness Center Support at five locations across the Southeast, received the 2017 Alabama Performance Excellence Silver Level Team Showcase Award on May 10, 2018.
The award recognizes Vanquish’s Transporters Kaizen Team located at Fort Rucker, AL for their outstanding performance and efforts in applying quality principles while educating employees within the business unit. This Silver Award exemplifies the benefits quality leadership and empowered teams can bring to an organization.
The two-day Alabama Performance Excellence Program Conference and Ceremony gathered some of the region’s top organizations and leaders to compare and expand improvement efforts for a variety of business sectors regionally and across the nation. Conference sessions ranged from hands-on workshops to best practice demonstrations from quality experts from across a variety of business sectors.
As part of its mission at Fort Rucker, Vanquish is required to transport flight students and other approved passengers utilizing Government provided buses daily on and around the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence.
The Vanquish Transporters Kaizen Team worked to resolved a legacy challenge hindering maximum transportation service performance. Upon the start of the contract in November 2016, Vanquish Worldwide quickly identified challenges in maintaining the required number of buses to transport soldiers daily.
The team efficiently capitalized on additional opportunities to improve multiple processes which significantly increased not only bus readiness but also data collection and reporting for the Vanquish Fort Rucker team and their customer.
In 2017, the Vanquish Transportation Motor Pool Team logged over 193,749 accident-free miles and transported 254,294 students.
“Across all of our contract sites, our team always strives for excellence in every aspect of our work. I am so proud of the hard work of our Vanquish Transporters Kaizen Team. This achievement and award truly shows that these men and women have gone above and beyond to improve the quality of our workmanship,” Vanquish Worldwide President and CEO Dr. Eric W. Barton said. “It’s a win-win situation for both the customer and the Vanquish team.”
The event concluded with the awards banquet celebrating Vanquish Worldwide and other 2017 Alabama Performance Excellence Awards recipients.
