Maryville, Tenn. – Maryville-based Vanquish Worldwide LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing global support services to the U.S. Government and the commercial market sector, announced today its award of a new, multi-million dollar federal contract to provide base closure assistance team (BCAT) support in Afghanistan.
As U.S. military forces begin to draw down and consolidate, Vanquish teams will conduct assessments, develop and coordinate plans, and assist the U.S. Military’s Combined/Joint Operations Area – Afghanistan (CJOA-A) command in the transition, consolidation, and/or closure of bases in Afghanistan as well as perform equipment and real property disposition. Vanquish will provide a host of services as part of the contract, including operations, property book, supply, information technology and knowledge management, as well as base engineering support.
“Our team looks forward to expanding Vanquish’s footprint of support for U.S. Government operations to the Afghanistan Area of Operations,” Vanquish President and CEO Eric W. Barton said. ”As a former U.S. Marine Intelligence Officer, I understand the critical nature and importance of coordinating efforts to consolidate operating base support while maintaining operational capabilities and supply accountability. Vanquish is excited to be part of the CJOA-A’s theater wide mission support.”
Barton and his team have successfully managed and overseen complex, multifaceted programs specializing in intelligence, logistics support, security services, staffing, training, life support, and other operational requirements throughout the Middle East, Pacific, and Africa.
The BCAT contract is a base closure augmentation program in the CJOA-A area of responsibility (AOR). Its mission is to assist base leadership in determining the most efficient and cost-effective methods of equipment and real property disposition during the process of base closure or transfer. BCAT members visit bases, make assessments, and provide guidance to base leadership as to additional support needed and overall base deconstruction options. The end result is reducing as much of the base’s footprint as possible through asset removal, transfer (retrograde or lateral) to another base or central hub, disposition at a landfill or transfer back to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) or original landowner.
