A consummate, hands-on senior manager with more than 14 years of supply chain, logistics and transportation management experience, Jason Bothman offers a unique combination of creativity and analytical skill in his role as Vice President of Operations and has the ability to assess multiple vantage points while optimizing supply chain management and financial returns.
His focus is on our commercial trucking business and finding the right professional drivers to represent Vanquish Worldwide to our clients nationwide.
Prior to joining Vanquish Worldwide, he held multiple positions at DM Transportation Management Services over a 13 ½ year tenure – most recently as Vice President of Logistics. Bothman has extensive knowledge in supply-chain data analysis and routing/compliance enforcement and management. His experience in strategic planning of expected shipments and consolidations of domestic (LTL and TL) and international (ocean and air) transportation is valuable in commercial logistics. Bothman was responsible for designing and fulfilling expenditure reviews while managing an $8 million annual budget and keeping in mind the profitability of the company. Before DM Transportation, Bothman was a fleet manager at J.B. Hunt in Atlanta, Ga., and at the corporate office in Lowell, Ariz.
Bothman holds multiple degrees from the University of Tennessee. He received a bachelor’s degree in logistics and transportation and a master’s degree in business administration.
With a decade of air freight and supervisory experience at FedEx Express in Knoxville and an educational background in communications, Laurin Finney provides a valuable skillset in rapid problem solving, organization, corporate policy and procedure along with an in-depth knowledge of load planning and coordination. In her role as Vanquish Worldwide DOT Safety Coordinator, Finney maintains Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards, supports internal and external audits, ensures fleet compliance with DOT and other transportation safety regulations, collects historical GPS data and imagery for invoicing and claims purposes and rewrites driver’s manuals. She also serves as Vanquish Worldwide’s administrator for TMW systems, a web-based operation center for the company’s transportation management that tracks the fleet online, instantaneously dispatches drivers to the nearest available load and ensures efficient services for customers.
During her time at FedEx in Knoxville, she managed ground flight safety and air freight, using that decade of knowledge in Federal Aviation Administration and transportation regulations, time management and working under deadline in her current position at Vanquish.
She was also a certified Hazardous Materials Specialist and has received numerous awards while at FedEx, including recognition for passing two FAA Dangerous Goods audits in one month and for outstanding leadership in various roles.
Finney graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a degree in journalism and electronic media with a concentration in visual communication and has an above-average knowledge of computer technology.
Matthew Helton brings a team player attitude and years of experience in trucking and distribution to his role as Fleet Manager at Vanquish Worldwide.
With the influence of his family, Helton joined the transportation industry and obtained his CDL in 2004. He was quickly recognized for his strong work ethic and leadership skills, and after only six months as a driver at a large beverage company in the area, he advanced to Assistant Distribution Manager/Driver Manager. Helton has also worked as a contract carrier and driver trainer for a major automotive manufacturer.
In 2013, he was given the opportunity to pass his transportation knowledge on to student drivers at Tennessee Truck Driving School as a range instructor and most recently as road instructor. He joined Peak Technical Institute, a sister company of Vanquish Worldwide, in 2014 as a Commercial Driver License instructor before being promoted to his current role. He is still a state certified CDL instructor.
In his current role, Helton oversees preventative maintenance and resolves any breakdown issues that may occur with the company’s fleet.
As a former driver himself, Helton offers a wealth of first-hand knowledge as well as a driver perspective, an added benefit in his leadership role at Vanquish Worldwide.
Helton holds a degree in theology from Liberty University in Virginia and is currently working towards a secondary degree in evangelism and Christian ministries. He also enjoys volunteering 30 hours or more a week with girls softball teams and is the president of a local nonprofit organization.
Dispatcher and Load Planner Daraul Holmes has a strong skillset with over 20 years of experience in all areas of transportation and logistics. That skillset will be beneficial to Vanquish Worldwide as it continues to flourish eight years after the company was established.
“I’ve done legitimately everything from domestic to even moving Canada and Mexico,” Holmes said. “I’ve dealt with containers out of Japan and then of course moving freight here in the states on trucks. I’ve had my hands basically in about everything that has to do with trucking over the past 20 years.”
He has an extensive background working in domestic transportation, which is something he credits as a benefit to contract and collaborate with customers to move their freight. While he enjoys the nature of the job, Holmes said he especially enjoys camaraderie with his coworkers and the teamwork atmosphere at Vanquish Worldwide, where everyone is known on a personable level and by their first name, Holmes said..
“I like the fact that it’s a small company that is growing. Instead of coming into something that is huge and everything is about a number instead of a name,” Holmes said.
The job of load planner and dispatcher is the perfect fit for Bryan Pack.
While he has over 10 years of experience in the transportation industry as a fleet manager and a dispatcher, Pack enjoys the unique challenges that the job brings every day.
“A lot of desk jobs are monotonous, the same thing every day. This is different usually every day,” Pack said. “It’s basically the same job because you’re finding loads for everything, but every day there is something different – someone is broke down or has problems. It changes day to day.”
In a day’s work at Vanquish, Pack is charged with maintaining continual fleet movement, planning truck loads, driver payroll and fielding phone calls from brokers and customers. Prior to his current role in domestic transportation, Pack worked night shift several years ago tracking fleet with Vanquish’s National Afghan Trucking contract.
Before moving into the transportation field, Pack worked as a warehouse manager. He has a background in shipping and receiving truck loads, less-than-truck loads, individual packaging and receiving, inventory control including cycle counts and rotating stock and maintaining personnel files and records for warehousing. He also has a background in medical supply also involving warehouse management, inventory control, order shipping, receiving and processing, customer service, and delivery and setup of numerous medical accounts. He was a driver manager with SuperService LLC, where he worked for 12 years before coming on board with Vanquish Worldwide.
Like many Vanquish employees, Pack is a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He specialized in Electronic Systems Technology, maintenance and upkeep of Ground Launch Cruise Missiles, Peacekeeper and Minute Man III ICBM’s. His last posting in the military was as Missile Scheduler with Space command, where he scheduled numerous missions for test and space launches including Titan, the Space Shuttle and various Missile Systems and other support requirements for those missions. He was even stationed in England for three years. Bryan enjoys building computers, the information technology field and volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America.
Though the company serves all 48 contiguous states in the U.S., from 11 offices and terminals in Tennessee and Colorado, Vanquish Worldwide’s dispatch center is based at its global headquarters in Maryville, Tenn. Our state of the art 17,000 square-foot headquarters facility sits on 7.7 acres and is secured by a fence barrier around the property along with other mounted security cameras, state of the art motion detection security system and other safety features.
This building and lot allows us to accommodate our expanding business opportunities in the logistics, transportation and training sectors as well as provide a secure environment for our trucks, heavy equipment and our government and commercial contract files and documents.
Vanquish’s U.S. commercial operations covered over 700,000 miles in 2014 and approximately 290,000 miles in the first quarter of 2015, the latter generating nearly $477,000 in gross revenue so far this year.
