Matthew Helton brings a team player attitude and years of experience in trucking and distribution to his role as Fleet Manager at Vanquish Worldwide.
With the influence of his family, Helton joined the transportation industry and obtained his CDL in 2004. He was quickly recognized for his strong work ethic and leadership skills, and after only six months as a driver at a large beverage company in the area, he advanced to Assistant Distribution Manager/Driver Manager. In 2013, he was given the opportunity to pass his transportation knowledge on to student drivers at Tennessee Truck Driving School as a range instructor and most recently as road instructor. He is still a state certified CDL instructor.
In his current role, Helton oversees preventative maintenance and resolves any breakdown issues that may occur with the company’s fleet.
As a former driver himself, Helton offers a wealth of first-hand knowledge as well as a driver perspective, an added benefit in his leadership role at Vanquish Worldwide.
Helton holds a degree in theology from Liberty University in Virginia and is currently working towards a secondary degree in evangelism and Christian ministries. He also enjoys volunteering 30 hours or more a week with girls softball teams and is the president of a local nonprofit organization.
Daraul Holmes, Load Planner and Dispatcher
Dispatcher and Load Planner Daraul Holmes has a strong skillset with over 20 years of experience in all areas of transportation and logistics. That skillset will be beneficial to Vanquish Worldwide as it continues to flourish eight years after the company was established.
“I’ve done legitimately everything from domestic to even moving Canada and Mexico,” Holmes said. “I’ve dealt with containers out of Japan and then of course moving freight here in the states on trucks. I’ve had my hands basically in about everything that has to do with trucking over the past 20 years.”
He has an extensive background working in domestic transportation, which is something he credits as a benefit to contract and collaborate with customers to move their freight. While he enjoys the nature of the job, Holmes said he especially enjoys camaraderie with his coworkers and the teamwork atmosphere at Vanquish Worldwide, where everyone is known on a personable level and by their first name, Holmes said..
“I like the fact that it’s a small company that is growing. Instead of coming into something that is huge and everything is about a number instead of a name,” Holmes said.
Bryan Pack, Load Planner and Dispatcher
The job of load planner and dispatcher is the perfect fit for Bryan Pack.
While he has over 10 years of experience in the transportation industry as a fleet manager and a dispatcher, Pack enjoys the unique challenges that the job brings every day.
“A lot of desk jobs are monotonous, the same thing every day. This is different usually every day,” Pack said. “It’s basically the same job because you’re finding loads for everything, but every day there is something different – someone is broke down or has problems. It changes day to day.”
In a day’s work at Vanquish, Pack is charged with maintaining continual fleet movement, planning truck loads, driver payroll and fielding phone calls from brokers and customers. Prior to his current role in domestic transportation, Pack worked night shift several years ago tracking fleet with Vanquish’s National Afghan Trucking contract.
Before moving into the transportation field, Pack worked as a warehouse manager. He has a background in shipping and receiving truck loads, less-than-truck loads, individual packaging and receiving, inventory control including cycle counts and rotating stock and maintaining personnel files and records for warehousing. He also has a background in medical supply also involving warehouse management, inventory control, order shipping, receiving and processing, customer service, and delivery and setup of numerous medical accounts. He was a driver manager with SuperService LLC, where he worked for 12 years before coming on board with Vanquish Worldwide.
Like many Vanquish employees, Pack is a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He specialized in Electronic Systems Technology, maintenance and upkeep of Ground Launch Cruise Missiles, Peacekeeper and Minute Man III ICBM’s. His last posting in the military was as Missile Scheduler with Space command, where he scheduled numerous missions for test and space launches including Titan, the Space Shuttle and various Missile Systems and other support requirements for those missions. He was even stationed in England for three years. Bryan enjoys building computers, the information technology field and volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America.
